Kin: Deep Links & Universal Links

Kin app

This article applies to the Kin app (now part of Reactiv). If your app was built with Reactiv, see the Reactiv support docs instead.

Deep links open a specific screen in your Kin app. Use them as the landing page for push notifications, in More menu items, or anywhere you want to send shoppers into the app.

Each Kin app's URL scheme is chosen when the app is built. A store at yourbrand.com typically uses yourbrand (www. and .com removed). Deep links look like this:

yourbrand://<destination>

Ask support@reactiv.ai if you're not sure what your app's scheme is.

yourbrand://shop
yourbrand://web?url=https://yourstore.com/products/classic-tee
yourbrand://web?url=https://yourstore.com/collections/new-arrivals

Always include url= when linking to a web page, and use the full URL including https://.

With universal links, links to your website open directly in your app when the shopper has it installed. If they don't, the link opens in the browser as usual. For example:

  • A link to your homepage shared in a messaging app opens the app.
  • A product page link opens that product in the app.

Your app's website domains are set when the app is built. If you add or change your store domain, email support@reactiv.ai so the Kin team can update the app.

Sessions started from universal links are reported as Universal link sessions in your analytics dashboard.
