Kin: How Your Website Appears in the App
This article applies to the Kin app (now part of Reactiv). If your app was built with Reactiv, see the Reactiv support docs instead.
The Shop tab, product pages, collections and checkout in your Kin app show your Shopify storefront inside the app. This means your products, prices, apps and checkout match your website automatically.
Website elements hidden in the app
Some parts of your website duplicate the app's own interface. The most common is your site header, because the app already has its own top bar, search, cart and menu. The Kin team hides or adjusts those elements so pages look native in the app:
- The site header is hidden.
- Top padding and offsets are adjusted so content isn't pushed down.
These adjustments only apply inside the app. Your website isn't changed.
Want to hide something else in the app only? For example, a promo bar, a cookie banner or a chat bubble. Email support@reactiv.ai with the page URL and a screenshot. The team can target elements using standard CSS selectors such as an element's ID or class.
If you change your theme or rename elements, check the app afterwards. Hidden elements are matched by selector, so a theme change can make a hidden element reappear.
Customer service chat
Build → Navigation → Customer Service Chat adds a button that stays on screen while shoppers browse. Add a Gorgias Brand ID in Settings → Integrations before the switch can be turned on. The button opens Gorgias. If Gorgias isn't set and a Kustomer API key or Gladly app is configured instead, the button opens that help desk.
Keeping shoppers signed in on your website
When a shopper signs in to the app, they're also signed in on your website pages inside the app, so account pages and checkout recognize them. See Sign-in Options.
